Black Women Spotlight: Honoring the Women Who Inspire Us

Black History Month is more than just a time to remember the past—it’s a time to honor, uplift, and celebrate the Black women who have shaped our lives, our communities, and our future. While history books highlight some of our legendary trailblazers, there are so many more women—both past and present—who have made an impact in ways big and small, often without the recognition they deserve.

That’s why I created the Black Women Spotlight series. This month, I’m shining a light on both well-known figures and incredible local women—women who are out here breaking barriers, leading with strength, and pouring into the people around them. Some are entrepreneurs, activists, and artists. Others are educators, caregivers, and quiet forces of change. But what they all have in common is their ability to inspire, uplift, and push forward, even when the world tells them they can’t.

This is a celebration of our mothers, our sisters, our friends, and our role models—the women whose stories deserve to be heard. Throughout the month, I’ll be sharing their journeys, their wisdom, and the lessons we can all learn from them.

💛 I’d love to hear from you! Is there a Black woman in your life—past or present—who has inspired you? Drop her name in the comments, share her story, or tag her so we can give her the flowers she deserves! Let’s make this month about celebrating each other—because when one of us shines, we all shine. ✨
