My joy is revolutionary. My freedom is non-negotiable.

Juneteenth isn’t just a date on the calendar—it’s a declaration. It’s a reminder that even when freedom is delayed, it is never denied. And as we move through 2025, I’m reflecting on how much power lives inside of us as a people, especially as Black women.

On June 19, 1865—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation—enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were finally told they were free. Imagine holding on to hope while living in bondage. Imagine waiting for the freedom that was already yours.

We are the descendants of that kind of strength.

Today, I honor them by living boldly and fully. I wear my culture. I speak my truth. I take up space. I heal loudly. I protect my joy. I remind myself—and anyone watching—that Blackness is not just something to be endured. It is something to be celebrated.

From Survival to Liberation

We are no longer simply surviving. We are building empires, creating art, launching businesses, raising babies and brands, getting degrees, and breaking chains. We are doing all of this while still showing up to protest, praise, and preserve what our ancestors died for.

We’re not asking for permission anymore. We’re creating our tables. That’s the energy I’m bringing into Juneteenth and beyond: liberation in real time.

Rocking Our Power Out Loud

This Juneteenth, I’m rocking my pride. Not just with words, but with what I wear and represent. That’s why I created my Juneteenth Collection—an unapologetic celebration of Black excellence, resilience, and joy.

Shirts, journals, tote bags—each piece tells a story. It says: “I know who I am. I know where I come from. And I’m not dimming my light for anyone.”

 Own Your Freedom

This Juneteenth, I challenge you to reflect on this question:
“Where in my life am I still waiting for someone else to free me?”

Then let this be the year you set yourself free. From people-pleasing. From perfectionism. From shrinking. From silence.

Step into the spotlight, not just because it’s Juneteenth, but because you are worthy every damn day.
